Injectable grade sodium hyaluronate (SH) is the sodium salt form of hyaluronic acid (HA), a high molecular weight polysaccharide, and its chemical structure consists of D-glucuronic acid and N-acetylglucosamine alternately connected by β-1,3 and β-1,4 glycosidic bonds to form a stable double helix structure. Its aqueous solution has high viscoelasticity, biocompatibility and strong hydrophilicity, and can absorb 500-1000 times its own weight of water.
